I have just completed a christmas commission of a miniature version of Hati, my orangutan for Jungle City 2011.
This orangutan is only 18cm tall, much smaller than it’s 110cm sibling! I scaled the design down, and painted some of the finer details with toothpicks.
Jungle City, organised by Elephant Family, was Scotlands largest outdoor exhibition held in the summer of 2011, featuring 130 life size sculptures of some of the planet’s most endangered species, painted by a variety of creatives.
The exhibitions aim was to raise over £1 million for Elephant Family and partner charities the Sumatran Orangutan Society and WWF.
Miniature creatures are currently available in the ‘Jungle Bells’ pop-up shop at 69 Broadwick St, Soho.
